I hope you all have had a wonderful week. I know mine has been busy, but I'm starting to catch back up on some things. This session is over 2 chapters. I pray you all are enjoying this book as much as I am.
Chapter 7 Greet & Groom
"For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with hungry. For beautiful hair, let a child run his or her fingers through it once a day (a least). For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone." - Sam Levenson
When Lisa talks about greet and groom, she refers to the lionesses and how they nurture their cubs. The lioness is saying "You belong with us. You are welcome to be at ease, discover your strengths, and grow up among us. There is provision and safety for you here in the pride." (Kindle edition 1820)
When I first read this I thought it was neat how the lionesses treat ALL the cubs this way, not just their own cub. This got me thinking about not just our children and the children around us, what about spiritual children ( adults new to faith). We need to be saying the same things to them.
Have you ever noticed Paul's writings to the church. He always makes sure he tells them how much he loves and appreciates them. No matter the circumstance.
14-16I'm not writing all this as a neighborhood scold just to make you feel rotten. I'm writing as a father to you, my children. I love you and want you to grow up well, not spoiled. There are a lot of people around who can't wait to tell you what you've done wrong, but there aren't many fathers willing to take the time and effort to help you grow up. It was as Jesus helped me proclaim God's Message to you that I became your father. I'm not, you know, asking you to do anything I'm not already doing myself.
Do we really care about others? People know, they see our actions.
When we are part of a community that grooms one another, we help each other keep our lives clean.
I love how she states " she has no desire to control me only to make sure I don't have dirt on my face."

John 13:10
The Message (MSG)
10-12Jesus said, "If you've had a bath in the morning, you only need your feet washed now and you're clean from head to toe. My concern, you understand, is holiness, not hygiene. So now you're clean. But not every one of you." (He knew who was betraying him. That's why he said, "Not every one of you.") After he had finished washing their feet, he took his robe, put it back on, and went back to his place at the table.
Matthew 23:25
New Living Translation (NLT)
25 “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are filthy—full of greed and self-indulgence!
"Holiness is of the heart, God alone makes us clean."
"Confusion happens when our focus is on avoiding bad, rather than doing good."
Chapter 8 Lionesses are Strategic
"No woman's portion or contribution is more significant than another's. We need you to be you!"
Each one of us are unique. We all have different talents and abilities that are given from God. We need to quit trying to be like our sisters and embrace what God has given us. When we choose to work together we can accomplish more than trying to do it ourselves.

Romans 12:5-6
The Message (MSG)
4-6In this way we are like the various parts of a human body. Each part gets its meaning from the body as a whole, not the other way around. The body we're talking about is Christ's body of chosen people. Each of us finds our meaning and function as a part of his body. But as a chopped-off finger or cut-off toe we wouldn't amount to much, would we? So since we find ourselves fashioned into all these excellently formed and marvelously functioning parts in Christ's body, let's just go ahead and be what we were made to be, without enviously or pridefully comparing ourselves with each other, or trying to be something we aren't.
6-8If you preach, just preach God's Message, nothing else; if you help, just help, don't take over; if you teach, stick to your teaching; if you give encouraging guidance, be careful that you don't get bossy; if you're put in charge, don't manipulate; if you're called to give aid to people in distress, keep your eyes open and be quick to respond; if you work with the disadvantaged, don't let yourself get irritated with them or depressed by them. Keep a smile on your face.
"Not only should we rise together in the pursuit of God and His answers. It is time we rise in our pursuit of justice."
"We need to cut off the enemies air supply." We need to quit giving in to the way we talk badly about people, issues, things. We need to tame that tongue. We need to lift up, encourage, love, worship, praise. This is how we overcome.
